Annelies Vrieswijk, born in 1983, received her musical education at the Conservatory of Amsterdam (The Netherlands) with professor Arno Bornkamp as well as at the Prins Claus Conservatory (The Netherlands) and the Kungliga Musikhögskolan (Sweden). Both her Bachelors and Masters degree were rewarded with the highest honer (cum laude).
Annelies Vrieswijk is a highly respected saxophone player in the Netherlands, performing with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Netherland Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, The Nederlands Philharmonisch Okest,The North Netherlands Symphony Orchestra and the Marine Band of the Royal Netherlands Navy . She’s a very active chamber musician, founding the successful Syrène Saxophone Quartet and the Rodion Trio. With these ensembles she toured almost every continent, recorded several albums, and received awards. As a solist she performed with Asko|Schönberg, the most renown Dutch modern music ensemble, conducted by the late Reinbert de Leeuw, and with the North Netherlands Orchestra conducted by Anthony Hermus.
In 2017 Annelies started her studies in historical bassoon playing with Benny Aghassi.

Annelies Vrieswijk, geboren in 1983, studeerde saxofoon aan het Prins Claus Conservatorium bij Peter Stam, aan de Kungliga Musikhögskolan bij Christer Johnsson en aan het Conservatorium van Amsterdam bij Arno Bornkamp. Zowel haar Bachelor als haar Master heeft Annelies cum laude afgesloten.
Tijdens haar master ontmoette ze Mark Toxopeus, waarmee ze sindsdien samen speelt. Aanvankelijk alleen als ‘Duo Vrieswijk-Toxopeus’ en na hun afstuderen ook als het ‘Rodion Trio’, samen met klarinettist Diederik Ornée. Het Rodion Trio heeft onder andere het Kamermuziekfestival Almere gewonnen en twee cd’s uitgegeven. Daarnaast was Annelies tussen 2008 en 2020 tenorsaxofonist van het Syrène Saxofoonkwartet, waarmee we ze twee cd’s heeft uitgegeven en vele internationale tournees heeft gemaakt. Als freelance musicus speelt ze met veel Nederlandse ensembles en orkesten, waaronder het Concertgebouworkest, het Radio Filharmonisch Orkest, het Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest, het Noord Nederlands Orkest en Asko|Schönberg. Bij dat laatste ensemble heeft ze ook als solist opgetreden. En in 2017 is Annelies weer begonnen met studeren, ditmaal historisch fagot bij Benny Aghassi, waardoor Annelies ook steeds meer werkzaam is in de historische uitvoeringspraktijk.
